Spanish is commonly spoken across the country.
Quechua, the language of the Incas, is spoken in the mountain. Aymara is mainly spoken in the communities of Puno. In the jungle, different dialects are spoken.
Peruvian Spanish has a low accent and is easy to understand, which is ideal for the learning of this language. Our programmes include Spanish courses in Lima and Cusco.

Medical Treatment
If you are receiving a special medical treatment, consult your doctor before your trip. In case of emergency, you will find good hospitals and doctors in the main cities of Peru.
Please indicate if you have any special requirement about diets or case, so we can coordinate with the hotels and guides.
Don’t forget to bring any medicine you commonly take.

Vaccinations
Vaccinations for yellow fever are recommended when travelling to the Jungle at least 10 days before the trip. You can get vaccinate in the Airport or any private Clinic.
Check your immunisations against Tetanus, Polio, Typhoid, Hepatitis A, which last 10 years. The best prevention of Malaria and Yellow Fever is to avoid being bitten, by using long sleeve / trouser clothing and insect repellent.

Altitude Sickness
The only really effective cure for altitude sickness is acclimatisation, thus we have designed tour which allow you to gradually acclimatise to the different altitudes.

Be very careful not to exert yourself when you first experience altitudes of 2000 m. Rest and drink plenty of fluids and avoid climbing until you get used to it.

A few hours rest makes a big difference and after a few days the effects generally become unnoticeable. Everyone reacts differently so follow what you body tells you.

Food

Peruvian food is very varied and delicious, thus we recommend you to taste it good level restaurants, where the freshness of ingredients and good service are guaranteed.
Many Peruvian dishes commonly are seasoned, however most of the restaurants prepare light dishes and without hot spices.
Never eat food prepared by street vendors.
We recommend you only to drink bottling water, which is available in every place.
Wash well fruits and vegetables, if possible with purified or bottling water.
