Organisers and participants of the Fórum Gastronómic Girona 2007, which took place in the city of Cataluña, Spain, named Peru as an “Authentic Paradise of fusion cooking”.

For this event, Peru selected the most outstanding Peruvian chefs: Toshiro Konishi and Rafael Piqueras, who won the public with their proposals which show the richness of ingredients, and the skill and the creativity of Peruvian cuisine to combine elements from other cultures.
Well-known international chefs agreed that Peruvian cuisine has a gastronomic and cultural value that deserves to be amongst the five most important of the world.

Peru was the only country representing the American continent in this event, considered the most important of Europe, which brought together  27,000 visitors, 160 exhibitions, 150 professionals and 265 journalists from 15 countries.
includes the implementation of a bar with a panoramic view, where you can enjoy the countryside accompanied by the drink you like the most.

During the journey, you will have the opportunity to enjoy looking at the contrast of the landscapes, shown by the wonderful valleys, impressive peaks and shining lagoons of the Peruvian sierra. The journey will be as pleasant as the arrival. In the Mantaro Valley, in Huancayo, you can walk around the village of weavers, “Hualhua” and visit the artisans of San Jerónimo, amongst others tourist attractions.

Become a great discoverer of the past, visiting Chiclayo, the capital of the province of Lambayeque, the most important economical, commercial and tourist centre of the northern coast of Peru. Cradling the  ancient pre-Colombian civilisations, it is strategically located, just in the middle of a rich archaeological pre Inca area, where the Mochica culture (I  VII century A. D.) and Lambayeque culture (VII  X century A.D.) were developed.

Dare to make this journey to the pre Inca period, visiting the most important archaeological discovery of America dated from the XX century in the Tumbas Reales del Señor de Sipán Museum. This offers a collection of archaeological objects of pre-Colombian gold, silver and
cooper of incalculable value. Continue your adventure visiting the complex of Túcume, formed by 26 monumental pyramids made of adobe, which affirms the most exceptional period of this culture.

Bring all your senses when you visit Cajamarca. It is impossible to talk about this beautiful city, located in the Peruvian northern sierra, without mentioning its rich history which will transport you to the end of the great Inca Empire; its impressive architecture, where you will notice both the Andean and the European influence; and the colourful countryside that surround it: numerous valleys and  hills. Besides, the people of Cajamarca are very happy and hospitable. Try it out.

At only 6 km southwest from the city centre, the thermal springs and medicinal waters are found, known as the Inca's Bath, where the Inca Atahualpa used to go to rest. The Incas
knew about the great therapeutic properties of its waters, which you will be able to enjoy.

Cajamarca's fertile ground forms a unique landscape, where you can breathe the air of eucalyptus. Known as “the land of the milk” because of its various and delicious milk products, the city waits for you to visit its surroundings and discover its dairy farms and countryside. Also, visit important historical monuments such as Cuarto del Rescate, Ventanillas de Otuzco, the Channels of Cumbemayo, its churches, amongst others.
